hi everyone. i have just launched an e-commerce site selling dance msuic mp3's (http://www.nufonix.com) and i am getting feedback from people saying they cannot see the pages correctly on MAC using IE 5.1/5/4.5. in particular, the genre pages (house, techno, etc.) display large patches of weird gray matter in place of the product and when scrolling down, they see product but it's all chaotic looking >>> thus making it unshoppable for them. how frustrating!

does anyone know what the problem is? how to fix it?

i am not a coder myself but i can forward your fixes/suggestions to them.

thanks. j.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, slippery.

This really isn't enough information to know exactly what needs to be fixed, and as you may know we don't allow links or site reviews here.

The gray box that sometimes shows a hint of the image sounds mighty suspicious. Just go to the coders and tell them that much - they will know what they did in those spots. It may be a java applet or some other technology that the old IE/mac browser isn't handling well. But what ever it is, you have enough to hand it over to the coder right there.

It might also be a kind of specially positioned div - again possible because you say that the page is chaotic and un-shoppable. Your coders must know exactly how they set up that section of the page. Armed with the knowledge that Mac/IE does not render it properly, they definitely have all the information they should need.

actually i did not know i was not allowed to submit url's for review.

well, i am not a coder so i cannot even begin to know what is right and wrong for a fix. i am asking because my coders seem to be at a dead end.

what should i do now if i need someone to review it and make suggestions/repairs? is there another resource you can suggest?

:-)
