I recently updated my site and now I am getting a sporadic error that say... Internet Explorer could not open the Internet Site (xzy) Operation Aborted.

I have used ww3 and netmechanic to check my site and although it doesn't validate completely... I don't see anything that stands out as really wrong. (it gets a 4 for browser compatibility on netmechanic)

I did a search on this subject and read a few post about Spyware might cause this error.

Well today I went and bought a new computer and tested the site right away and the error was there and I haven't downloaded anything… yet :- )

So my question is has anyone else encountered this and do you know why?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers.

It sounds like something could be wrong with your server. Like if its returning invalid or corrupt data, IExplore could pop up something like this.. I havent had this problem or heard of anything like this, so I can't really help you. Could you reply with some more info, like what server you are running, what you updated, and what browser version you are using?

I am running Apache 1.3.27 [httpd.apache.org] on win2k, using MySQL [mysql.com] for my databases, but if any database is corrupting randomly, it may be some sort of virus, or just someone screwing with you.. I know that the default username and password for MySQL is root with no password. If you havent changed from your defaults, people could just open up your databases in MS Access and corrupt everything. Thats all the help I can give you because I havent worked much with MS servers due to the many many security holes and constant patches..

BTW, by you saying you are using MS 2000, Im guessing your using MS SQL Server or something related for your databases and IIS for your site..
