Somewhere, between me installing, but not using, a trial xmlspy and trying to undo the file type associations spy made with xml file types, my settings for .xml have been messed up.

I can't now get IE6 to do the xml processing/displaying as collapsable heirarchy it did before. Can anyone suggest the correct DDE settings for .xml .xsl + file types - this on Win98.

I've reset these associations as
---------
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"
"file:%1",,-1,,,,,
IExplore

WWW_OpenURL
---------
and they now open up in IE, but simply display the text rather than process it, and I know really nothing about what my options are.

I don't know if Opera can process XSLT/XML files .. I'd prefer not to use IE but this is/was useful.

Just hoping I won't have to reinstall IE..

What I really need is a simple windows interface for processing XSLT/XML to files but have yet to get that far, still using command line for saving results.

(sorry mod should be in Browsers forum).. need a break.

I know you said you you hoped not to re-install IE, but that may be the surest route.

Just remember to export your bookmarks first for safety's sake, so you can import them back in in case the re-install doesn't pick them up properly.
