Multi-line Options for a Select element

can I get a line break in a select option?

I believe that option objects (i.e. the children of a select), may span more than one line, since isMultiLine returns true. I have tried using both backslash-n and less-than-BR-greater-than, but neither accomplishes this. I would be happy to hear from anyone who has successfully figured out how to have options span more than one line.
