Creating a small pop up.

Needs to be restricted to certain size, no nav bar, etc.

Hi All,

With all of the problems with pop ups these days, let me clarify. I am not looking for a "pop up" really, just a new window that opens when a visitor clicks on a link.

The problem with setting it to a new target frame is it does not allow me to control the size of the window.

You know how sometimes you see a little question mark beside some data, and you click on it and it gives an explanation? That is what I am wanting to do.

Having said all of that...

How do you create a pop up window that does not have a nav bar, scroll bar, status bar, and is 400 by 300 pix?

I know how to make it open in a new window and I remember that you set the window size and specifications at the top, but I can't remember exactly how.

Thanks!

If you aren't using the target= attribute, then you need to use JavaScript. And whether the window is launched automatically or onClick, most people still call it a pop-up. And, some of the less elegant pop-up blockers will block ANY kind of pop-up, abut the best will allow users just to block the automatic type.

So that being said, over in our new JavaScript forum there's a thread that should answer all your pop-up questions:
