The time has come to update myself on the following standards:

For testing purposes; what are the standards for:
1) Download Time (56k) -?
2) Screen Rez
3) Which Browsers

My book of standards shows:
1) 56k less then 10 seconds
2) 800x600
3) IE - Netscape

Whats the scoop?

Agree with 1, change 2 and 3 to all of them.

I think you should also let audience make a difference. If the site mainly has people who use a mac I would make safari an important standard. Sites about disabilities would need accessability concerns. General sites are actually a rare occurance. If you have gamers then faster internet, and a young audience better resolution, and so on.

1) anything more than 20 seconds on 56k and I'm outtathere...

2) I see no reason not to try to support all of them.

3) Again, I see no reason not to present readable contentent and sensible navigation to all browsers, even Lynx.
