This is an updated re-post.

When viewing on Explorer 5 on Mac, the problem outlined below appears. On PC things are fine.

Extra space - often up to 9 inches! - below where the page should end.

Seen it on various sites... now got it on mine.

Some not all, of my Movable Type pages display the problem.
It even varies between pages which read the same template!
Some are fine - and some aren't.

Not sure of the cause of the problem, I've parked MT to one side and in a lot of trial and error, produced a test page by progressively stripping out 'almost everything'... no stylesheet, javascript, etc - leaving a minimum of code which should display properly.

It doesn't.

There's still a few inches blank at the bottom.

And the links 'invisibly' extend into that space.

The layout of the page is an 'almost everything stripped-out' rework of a page I had which displayed a list of Moveable Type entries.

A 400 pixel wide table contains a single row and column.

Intended to display a list of links.

An icon to the left of the link-name provides the link.

I've identified three fixes to produce pages which display correctly - none of which are ideal or explain 'why?':

1 Remove or unlink the image.

2 Take away the table it works fine.

I've also noticed that if I make the table wider and right align the text and image, the left of the table has the same 'invisible' links.

Example at [ThinkPotential.com...]

it's driving me nuts - suggestions appreciated. Please and thanks.

Not sure or caring too much if anyone's still reading... the simple fix to this is to put a couple of non-breaking spaces before the image.

Case closed.
