I use IE6 and lately, I happen to click on a link which without my permission became the default page for my IE6. After that, all the buttons are greyed out and just cannot change or remove the default page.
Now I was installing latest ver of MSN, it just occured to me that, if i let msn be my home page, it will overwrite the current one which is stuck. But unfortunately, this MSN page also seems to be the same problema nd now i am not able to change or remove the default homepage for my IE6.
The URL in the Current default page is : http://runonce.msn.com* ( WARNING: Please don't click on this stupid URL...anyway, i disabled the link ) on my IE6 and all the buttons are gryed out.
How can i remove the default page as i don't want to have any default page for my IE?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers

If you're on WinXP, here's the IE repair instructions from Microsoft [support.microsoft.com]. I'd bet you need to do a re-install, no matter what your operating system
Normally I'd say first export your bookmarks to a backup file using File>Export - so you can import them back in later on. But since your buttons are grayed out, I suppose you can't do that.
So if you want to save your bookmarks, download another browser (like Opera 7.11) and IMPORT the IE6 Favorites. Then you have a backup that you can Import back into your new installation, in case the Favorites file has been overwritten.
Good luck - things like this can be an ongoing mess. But you can often find helpful tips by searching on Google and including site:microsoft.com along with your keywords.
