Does Lynx support GZIP encoding?

LnyxView Lynx emulator garbles my pages.

My pages are set up to GZIP all content if the UA supports it. But I have noticed that the LynxView Lynx emulator shows garbage with my GZIPped pages. Is this a bug in LynxView (pretending to understand GZIP but doesn't) or is it something I have to watch out for in Lynx? Should I exclude Lynx from GZIPing?

Thanks

I have Lynx installed, perhaps if you posted a link to your page, or someone else posted a link to a GZipped page?

Please try thee page in my profile. In Lynxviewer it shows binary data, so I guess it doesn'T decompress (while claiming it can handle GZIP).

Thanks, I'd much appreciate you checking my file.

Yeah, it works fine on my version of Lynx, the latest for Windows :)

ISTR that the w32 Lynx binary dist has the path to gzip hardcoded in it. So if a visitor using Lynx hasn't got gzip setup in the right location, they won't be able to read gzip'd content. HTH.
