Check out the new mozilla site at www.mozilla.org. I like the new design.

The Mozilla Foundation is a new non-profit organization that will serve as the home for mozilla.org. As before, mozilla.org will coordinate and encourage the development and testing of Mozilla code. The Mozilla Foundation will also promote the distribution and adoption of our flagship applications based on that code. AOL, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat, and other companies will continue to support Mozilla through the Foundation.

Wow, quite a different design.

Looked to me like only the homepage has changed though. Initially I thought it was too busy and a little 'boxy'. But clicking between an old and a new page there's really no contest. Hope the older pages are brought into line.

I couldn't really glean much useful information from the press release [mozilla.org] about what being a "new non-profit organisation" actually means in terms of the browser and other projects. There's lots of talk of the big companies (principally aol handing over $2 millino in 2 years) who supply funding, and even more about how cool open source is.

Can anyone point out what difference (if any) this makes to things?

Well, it sounds to me like AOL is trying to spin off Mozilla into a seperate entity.

Remember, many ex-Netscapers are still working on Mozilla on AOLs payroll. I think AOL may be trying to cut back, and eventually disband that group. This foundation may be part of that - transfer key employees over, then spin it off.

Its about time they made the download links more prominant. Every time I tell someone to go to mozilla.org and download mozilla over half of them say they cant find where to download it.
