I looked at this (http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum21/4188.htm) post but it didn't help me..

I'm looking for a script that can be put on a site, for all the msn versions.. I have Javascript, PHP, SHTM, VBScript (What ever works :D)...

I would like anything that has interations with msn but I would rather have this :
+ Allow people to talk to me without adding me;
+ Allow them to view my online/offline status.

Can anyone help?
Thx.
Pat.

It's a good question - and although I did a bit of research, I couldn't find an answer.

You posted over the weekend when things are a bit slower here, so maybe today will bring some better input for you.

AFAIK the way msn messenger works is you can only see the person online status if you have them on your list there are a lot of Javscripts out there that show online status but only in IE (maybe later netscape versions) and only if you have msn messenger running and you are on there list, like the way Outlook express shows your online contacts, I know a lot of people are working on it, so far with little success.

regards,
Mark.

I don't know of any fix for MSN Messenger, but it sounds like you are simply looking for a live chat option for your site. If this is what you are after, there are a number of options.

There are scripts you can install yourself that can do this, as well as remotely hosted options. Prices range from some scripts for about $80 up to $300-400 and prices for the remote services being anywhere from $20 and up.

Sticky me if you want any specifics as I've tried a few of them.

Thx but I am looking for something like a link that when you click on it it opens an msn messenger IM box.
