I have a form submission problem when any of my clients/visitors using IE4 try to submit the form. OK in a perfect world this would not happen and I would get it working :) But in my world it would involve quite a large amount of work that I feel is not worth doing (reason: only 5% of my traffic uses IE4) when I say IE4 it is the earlier releases that are affected i.e. 4.001 etc.
The question I have is: how is the best to deal with it?
1) Use SSI and redirect the client to msn.com download.
2) As above but first inform the client why they are being redirected.
3) Inform the client with <html> on my site that they are using an older version of IE and it is recommended they click on this link to download a later version.
4) Or any other suggestions that are successful.
Many thanks and best wishes,

People do not like to be redirected. I personally wont revisit a site that has redirected me.
I would post a message saying that the version of internet explorer needs to be updated to get the full functionality from you site. Then I would give them a link to the update page.

Cheers for the prompt reply!
Is it worth showing the actual content of the site or just a custom page with the message and the URL to the download site though?
The problem that I am talking about affects the navigation of the site hence the problem affects the entire site including the index...
It's quite painful that people still use IE4 (prepares himself for some backfire) ;)
