I'm using Windows XP Pro. Each time I try to install these two browsers: Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close...Send Report to Microsoft.

I had removed both of these programs a while back- but I don't think that should have anything to do with it. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks for any help!

I'm running into the same thing on Win98 - two different machines in our office. Extremely frustrating.

Some of the problem seems to come from incomplete uninstalls of previous versions, registry debris, etc.

Even so, I haven't got it handled yet. So I have no answers, but I can commiserate.

Strange days. These are two browsers that have to be up and running when it comes time for testing though. Here is how to install them despite their panic attacks...

The application compatiblity setting for the setup files need to be set for Windows 95. I set my levels for W2K -

Right Click on the .exe > Properties > Compatibility

Hope this helps...
