Fluidity without Tables

Is there such a thing?

I've been playing with creating fluid websites and can set up tables to accomodate fluidity without too much trouble (although sometimes graphics can be troublesome).

I'm just starting to play with external style sheets and layers a bit more. Is there a way to create a fluid site design using layers?

Everything I'm reading seems to indicate layers require set positions on a page, and using relative positions doesn't seem to create fluidity.

Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks! I was searching for "fluid" when apparently "liquid" was the better/proper term.

You're right - 6 pages is going to take a while to read, try out, and absorb, but it should be good reading!

Thanks, Nancyb. I hadn't even thought about 3 columns. I wasn't even really sure how to manage 2!

This is all very helpful and greatly appreciated. I'm soooo happy I found out about this site! :O
