trying to figure out how to do it...

Hi! I am looking into setting up a Papal account for a property manager. He wants his clients to be able to pay their rent online/via Paypal.

My question is... I see in the Paypal docs about how to setup an online store. This is not a store, per se, it's just one item--rent. And it could be different for different people.

Has anybody done this before? Can you point me in the right direction for some help?

Thanks!

I would make use of paypal's subscription features. You could do it either by emailing a link to each tenant with a subscription for their rent, or set up a page whereby they could make a one time payment of any amount they want or enter into a subscription for any amount they want.

None of those options are too tough to make. Paypal even has a button generator that will help you out. Look under the "sell" tab in your account.

If you need more help, let us know what exactly is the problem: Are you having trouble making it look right so that it doesn't look like a store? Are you having trouble actually charging the right amounts to the tennants? Are you looking for similar setups that you can study for implementation ideas? Would you like to see a consultant's rate card?

I may be a little late responding to this and you may have already figured things out, but in case you haven't....

If you're having problems and you can't find the answers on their website, try contacting PayPal directly. The folks who work there are wonderfully helpful and very willing to answer all questions. They're used to dealing with folks who are designing their own webpages, so designers who have a basic understanding shouldn't have any trouble at all following their instructions.

Again, this may be a belated posting, but I was talking with a PayPal rep this a.m. who said the best way to do this would probably be through their bill paying online service. I didn't get into any detail, but thought the generic info might help.
