I understand that if you have 2 different domains and you want to point them to the same server, you can setup domain aliasing...

Like if I have www.companyabc.com pointing to www.companyxyz.com I can setup domain aliasing on companyabc to point to companyxyz's space. My question is, does it work simply like a redirect?

If I type in www.companyabc.com and the aliasing kicks on will the URL change to www.companyxyz.com?

for a server alias it will retain the domain in the address bar.

if you enter via companyabc.com it will stay companyabc.com and if you enter companyxyz.com it will stay companyxyz.com.
