how do I set my email client to view Plain Text only, not HTML emails

In Microsoft Outlook (version 2000, for Windows), I know there is a way to say I only want to receive emails in Plain Text, not HTML. Does anyone know how to shut off the HTML view?

The reason behind this is: my company is starting to send multi-part MIME email blasts (so we send out an email blast that detects if the user can read HTML, and then displays HTML. If the user cannot read HTML, then the email displays as Plain Text.) I need to test the email and see how it looks if my email is set up for Plain Text only.

Thanks very much!!!

go to Tool > Options > Mail Format ... you should see the option that enables you to switch views.

All I see there is an option for Outgoing mail. I did change this setting, and all it affected was my outgoing mail, not incoming. :-(

Kathy - I don't think you can turn off HTML rendering of recieved messages in OL2K. I would just download a text-only e-mail program and check that way. Pegasus is free and would probably serve the purpose.
