Work offline or Try Again?

When no network connection and using localhost

We've got a several notebooks that are used for demo's at conferences and so on. Usually we have no connection to a network or the internet so the application is just installed on each machine and accessed through localhost. However, just one of these machines is insistent on constantly trying to connect to the internet when you try and open localhost (or <computername>) with the 'Connect' and 'Try Again' dialogs. This happens on most machines and you click 'Connect' and 'Try Again' and you're off...

But just this one machine (exactly same build as the others; W2K with IE5.5) does it all the time and it's causing a lot of problems.

Anybody know how we may be able to stop this. The cache is set to load a new page everytime (like the other machines) but we've tried the other options too amongst other things.

In your "connections' you've got one of them with a checkbox checked that says "always use this connection" and/or "automatically connect". Go through them and uncheck those. That should fix it.
