hi,
I'm trying to send an HTML E-mail, but one i designed.
i click on new message in outlook then attachment
->browse to the html file and click on the Insert as Text.
Now Outlook express changes the source of the HTML losing all my CSS definitions, Body Backgroung and so on...
the problem is I can't reach the HTML source once it's in Outlook to fix it...
what can I do ?
10x,

In Outlook and Outlook Express the stationery files are generally stored here by default:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
I don't mess with HTML e-mail messages all that much, but I've read that you should insert your HTML file in this folder, and then use it as stationery when sending your message if you want to keep all of your HTML relatively untouched.

also be aware that many organisations will be set up to either bounce html email, or render it as plain text anyway

Just a thought.

If you use relative URL's the messager (outlook) may not know where the original directory is.
With HTML based email it is best to use absolution URL's including the "http://www.domain-name.com/images/email4.gif" etc.

i have no problem dispalying images either by using the <base> or univerasl links...
the problem is when I import html document into Outlook as the text...
I lose all the css def. and the <body> bg or link ...
I tried sending an html E-mail from word - you won't believe the amount of junk code it put there : from an 8 KB html doc it became 24 KB and that's without the images...
