Button Links and Search Engines

Can search engines follow them?

Suppose I wanted to use a button link on a text-heavy page just to provide some visual variety. And suppose I did it like this, to avoid javascript:

<form method="post" action="url-to-link-to.com"><input type="submit" value="button text"></form>

Would Google and other SE's discern that there was a link there to follow? Would the landing page for such a link get full "page rank brownie points"? Would the button text count as link text when the SE is discerning themes?

Google won't find the link there.
