Does it work for you?

I'm building an image site using a javascript to size images for browser windows. Everything is working fine except a minor auto refresh problem in Opera and the following possible problem.

I just learned that IE6 has an auto image resizing feature. I thought I'd better try the browser to see how it affects the pages on my site. I downloaded and installed it on my Win 98 OS but when I navigate to a large image nothing changes?

I checked the settings and the feature is enabled, I made a test page with a huge image and nothing happened when I navigated to it. Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on? Does this feature work for you?

Here is the URL of my large test image:

Update: I think I now know what's going on. Although none of the documentation that I read mentioned it, it won't resize images within an HTML document. You have to open the image by itself to see the effect.

Exactly right. You have to open just the graphic file for the autosize to do anything. If you open a html page with the graphic embedded, IE does not autosize.
