I wanted to add a link to an interesting article I read. From my favorites folder, it goes right there - however, when added to a webpage, the link redirects to a "give us a little info about you" page.

Sorry, I guess that wasn't very specific.

My husband read an interesting article on a newspaper site.
He saved the addy in our IE "Favorites" folder.
He had me read the article (I got to it from the "Faborites" folder) and then asked if I could add a link to the article on his website.

I haven't loaded the updated webpage to the server yet, because when I try the link from the html document on our computer, it re-directs to the newspaper's "Tell us a little about yourself" page, and not directly to the article.

Why is this happening? Is there any code I can add to go directly to the article?

Almost certainly access to the desired page is not permitted until you have registered with the site.

Assuming that there are no problems on your computer or in your browser settings, you can have a single URL and visit it in various situations and easily see different things. Different methods (bookmarks vs html links). From different locations (i.e. office, home). Different browsers. Different language settings. Different times of day.

The key to this all is that the web site owner has complete control over this. My best suggestion would be to just contact the owner of the site. If you explained exactly what's happening, they should be able to tell you why (unless they are keeping it secret).
