*Some* autocomplete-ing is working (filling in some free-text fields, or past Google searches).
However, there are some private sites that I log in to (work intranets, etc) where I get the "Connect to" box. On my previous machine, the "User name:" field that comes up in a seperate box, would auto-complete. However, on this machine it does not auto-complete or show me previous instances of what I entered.
The box I am talking about can be seen here:
<removed>
Basically, the box with these components:
===============================
Connect to ----.com
Connecting to ----.com
User name:
Password:
[] Remember my password
OK Cancel
===============================
How can I turn on whatever I need to to get this feature working?
Thanks.

It didn't work.
I also tried doing a "Delete Cookies", "Delete Files", and "Clear History".
Under Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete Setting and selecting "Clear Forms", and "Clear Passwords" and hitting OK and OK again.
Shut down browser and restarted it, as well as rebooting the whole computer and trying all that again.
*Some* autocompleting is getting done, however, the box that I provided a link to a picture of is not being 'auto completed' at all. Even though on other installations like my current installation it behaves like that just fine.
Any other idea's? Known bugs?
I just noticed that the link to the picture I provided has been removed.
(sigh)
The box I am referring to the seperate box, outside of the browser. Similiar to the box you get if you Ctrl+Alt+Delete and lock computer, and them come back to your computer and doing a Ctrl+Alt+Delete again.
Its *that* kinda box.
without knowing any particulars about his hardware...
I'm going to say that perhaps (if you're on cable/DSL) that your modem is attempting to dial out because it interprets your call for the webpage as a signal to connect the modem to the internet, to fulfill the request that you made calling the webpage...
is it confusing?
I guess that it is...(IMO) your modem is trying to dial out to grab the webpage...
am I close?
That said, its not that the dialog box is popping up arbitrarily.... it comes up when I am trying to access those sites. Thats not my issue.
However, on *other* computers like mine (including my old machine, which is running the same OS and IE that I am on this new machine), once you started entering your username, the dialog box would show previously entered names and would give you the autocomplete suggestion...
However, this new machine is not doing that.
This feature came in handy considering that I have multiple destinations that require a Username/Password and all have different Usernames to remember.
Is that clearer?
Also, on my previous computer, it was not checked either.
OK, I just tried that.
Entered my User name, Password, and checked Remember my password. Once I got into the site, I closed out the browser, and reopened and tried going to the same Intranet site, and the box came back unchecked and its still asking me for my Password.
However, for my purposes, your suggestion worked, as it is retaining my Username now.
Thank you.
I will say tho, that seems kinda buggy. To me it implies one then, then behaves another way.
Ahhhh Windows!
Thanks again.
