I knew that meta tags are important.I just want to know how to put it in my website.Shall I put it after the DOCTYPE?What should i write on the content="content".TY.

Meta tags are located in the <head>. The doctype preceeds everything else.

Some meta tags are functional (and therefor may be critical) and others are merely informative.

I had a quick look with Google (meta tag reference) but could not find a decent explanation, but depending on what precisely you need, you should find an answer.
