I think Firefox and Opera are the most used by developers. Not many around here care for IE it seems... I sure don't!

Of course, you should always test your web pages in as many different browsers as you can.

Oops, you said SEO gurus! Internet Explorer is prolly the fav, with it's PageRank display. I believe FireFox has a PageRank extension too.

To run around the net I use ie. Main reason I do is most pages are designed by people that don't know what they are doing and only proof them in ie so I want to see them as intended. I get tired of seeing broken pages in firefox.

Opera for everyday use.

Firefox for development.

IE for stuff that won't display in anything else.

It really bugs me when I see pages that require IE anymore. I have a bank that requires IE "for security reasons". Is that an oxymoronic statement? Wife was taking on-line classes from a University and had to use IE to access much of the class material.

As for PR, I don't hardly pay attention to it anymore. Whenever it is updated it gets announced here, and then I will go take a peek. Rarely look other than that.

I am surprised by the comments about site that require IE. I see very few. Last year we made a list of FTSE350 (large and mid cap London listed companies) websites and only one (Rank) required IE, and that has been fixed since.

I use Firefox for browsing and development. IE, Opera and Konqueror for testing.

Opera at least as good Firefox (and way ahead of everything else) in terms of features, but Firefox has lots of extensions, many of which hugely useful. My favourites are: Web Developer, Flashblock (flash not downloaded unless you click to say you want it), Customise Google, Session Saver, Search Status (Google PR, Alexa rank, and some SEO tools), Spellbound (Spell checker) and Disable targets for Downloads (stops sites form opening new windows/tabs when you download things like PDFs).

that said I do not consider myself an SEO guru, but I do care about SEO and it does affect how I design sites.

Birdman,

FF has a Google Toolbar with a PR indicator now.

I do seo and web development, and I use FF; I simply cannot live without the Web Developer extension.

Always test a site in at least the following: IE, FF, Opera

I use IE.

I will use FF and Safari on occasion for testing.

The new IE with SP2 is much more secure than Firefox and there are many more options and settings that can be controlled with IE.

I don't bother with Opera or Konquerer or Netscape. If people want to cling to Netscape, I'm happy to not have them as customers.

I use FF. Nothing beats it for its extensibility options. I also have an option in the context menu for opening the current page in IE. This provides convenient IE access when I encounter an IE specific page (very rare).

Prior to that, I used Maxthon, also known as IE2.

Prior to that, I used IE.

My only bugbear with FF is it's RAM usage, which often exceeds 100Mg on my system. Not sure if this is a core issue, or an extension issue.

If memory serves me right, didn't an early version of FF have a memory leak problem? If so, I think it was plugged. An update of FF might solve the memory usage problem.

Most of the IE only pages I run across are not due to display issues, but to JS issues. I just love it when a Bank requires use of Active X as a security feature. Gives great confidence in the idea of on-line banking, doesn't it?

For my browsing I use FF but have been trying SeaMonkey recently and for V1.0 it is impressive.

To evaluate page design, I also use use IE 5.5 & IE 6 SP2 and IE7.
