Internet Explorer not playing animations

what exactly is wrong with IE?! (I'm talking about 6.0 but it's not like all other versions are any better)

I have animated buttons on a site I'm working on. The retarded browser just refuses to play the animations in whatever the default setting is on that thing.

any sollutions?

Tools > Options > Advanced Tab > Play animations in web pages

I mean animated gifs (buttons), onmouseover behavior

and yes I do have those preferences set to on
