HTML email with <input type="checkbox">

Do you think most of the email clients will have this tag <input type="checkbox"> showing correctly on the HTML emails?

I'm trying to have a simple checkbox on the email with no action to it. Do you think it will show correctly on most of the email clients?

Otherwise, I would just do an image of a checkbox.

I don't have a definitive answer, but using the checkbox may be less problematic than using an image (especially if it is a remote image) as the latter may well be blocked by a large number of email programs. I would run a few tests to see what happens, particularly in web-based email clients such as Hotmail or Gmail.

Of course, in both cases if the end user does not support HTML email then they will see neither one nor the other.

I'm using GoLive. Does it matter? Just want to know.

One thing to keep in mind is that most e-mail clients don't typically use browsers to redner your HTML e-mails so I'd keep it really simple. Another thing is that e-mail scanners will typically disable or block any e-mail with form elements in them since this is something a hacker or spammer could use.

Are you aware of the e-mail client that your target audience is going to be using? Or is it a mix?
