an ftp problem in internet explorer

hi there my dear webmasterworld visitors

i have a problem; like 2 days ago i was using internet explorer on windows mediacenter to upload some files on my server through the ftp account and all of the sudden i lost the connection and when i got the connection back i tried to log in to my folder on the server but i couldnot and the browser keep giving my a message on the status bar called " getting folder information" and after this it stock like that and the browser wont open the page.

can any body please help me and tell me what to do?

FTP under XP is problematic unless you have SP2 installed. In all cases, if you're on a broadband connection, you probably need to have the option "Use Passive FTP" selected (on the Advanced tab).
