SSL Certificate Problem with IE

Having a problem with an SSL certificate in IE SP2. The SSL is engaging properly on every browser ( even earlier versions of IE ), except IE on my XP machine. The browser appears to engage the SSL properly and after several requests I get a certificate invalid alert. The certificate is valid. At anytime during the process on IE XP, even before the alert if I view the certificate and click the details tab it crashes the browser. Once again, this all works fine on every browser but IE XP.

There were so many SSL vulnerabilities in IE6 that in order to patch them, SP2 created other problems. Here's a page from Microsoft that walks you through a checklist of common problems, in the order you should check them out.
