If this is a recent problem (less than three days old)
Try to go back to a restore point before the initial install or at least prior to the uninstall
This sounds like some sort of caching issue to me. I suggest you
1) clear the IE cache
2) check your system clock (not likely but easy to do)
3) if possible, change proxy server and/or revert to a (different) dialup connection for testing.
4) Try Opera and see if the problem persists.

Kaled has a good suggestion install another browser and make it your default
Don’t forget cleaning temps, be sure you remember your auto loging PW (if using any) and by the same token get rid of cookies.
Are you on a wireless network?
if so verify that it works fine
go to run
type: command
enter
type: ipconfig
enter and read results:
If the first three digits of your ip start by 169
it shows connection problems
and most likely the served pages come from your cache and not from a direct internet access.
