hi!
i wonder if there's a special name for tags, where
<tag>...</tag>
is valid. (i.e. not tags like
<meta>
,
<img>
,
<br>
...)...
is there something to distinguish between those two types of tags?
thanks

"container"¦"containing"
vs
"non-container"¦"non-containing"

"Elements" and "empty elements".

That would make <img> not an "element"
:)

Oops, yeah. An empty element is one like break <br/>.

An element like <br /> or <img /> is commonly termed 'self-closing' in XHTML. Which makes non-self-closing elements ... er ...

<p></p>
Is that an empty element too?

I'd say yes. It could be written as <p/> in XML.
