batch renaming or removing tool

i need to make some major changes to my absolute url listings in my html files. does anyone know of a way that i can save hours of work? i basically have tons of http://www.example.com/catalog/ listings within my site. hundreds of them and i need to change them all to [store.example.com...] I would like to use a renaming software or tool and need some suggestions. Anyone?

Both of the tools I use (Dreamweaver and Textpad) will do find+replace of text phrases on multiple files. What editor do you use?
