I am about to revisit an existing site and address some W3C compliance issues. One of the W3C recommendations is to use link titles on the basis that they improve the viewers experience.

I'm interested to hear what others members think of that. I suspect the html purists in our midst would argue for doing it.... but do they really justify the time needed to implement them?

Opinions?

Well, they provide a tooltip for mouseovers. They also provide text-to-speech (I think) for disabled people.

I would tend to lean morre towards W3C than HTML purists. It's about progression.
