Hi,

I used, for the first time, my laptop to browse Internet and got 4 difference message in CC+ telling me that I have to update my Win32 (Critical Microsoft Error) and that I should get an update at regfix.

I do not reminder the exact terms of the messages (I will post a message with more detail about my OS and browser, etc...), but I just wanted to know if it is spyware or if there is really a problem.

Thx

For safe browsing, you need a firewall such as ZoneAlarm, antivirus software and an uptodate browser such as Firefox or Opera.

If using XP, you can use the built-in firewall, but this merely filters incoming requests and ignores outgoing requests.

I never had firewall and antivirus on my laptop and this for two reasons:

1/I am in an undevelopped country : uploading/updating such tools can take ages and the phone bill goes high.

2/I rarely use my laptop to browse Internet.

From your answer, I should guess it is a spyware. Then, I 'll have to buy antivirus for a full scan and run Addware.
