Dear All
I wonder if you can help me
I currently have a problem whilst trying to open up my internet explorer browser.
I double click the icon and the egg timer appears, then disappears and I have to wait what seems like an age for the browser window to open.
Once in, I click on some icons and nothing happens other than the egg timer appears, I wait again and eventually a blank white window opens and nothing more, if I click on the stop button the screen freezes with Not responding appearing in the top blue title bar.

Using system restore solves the problem in the short term but eventually it reappears about 2 or 3 days later.

Can anyone advise
I have run Norton anti virus, pest patrol, ad aware and error nuker to no avail and Im now at a loss as to what the problem is.

Smart-alec answer: The problem is IE; use FireFox [getfirefox.com] instead! ;)

Serious answer: It's hard to troubleshoot a problem like this (at least it's hard for me, others might have an easier time). If this were spyware or virus related, the problem you'd be having would probably be IE opening way too often in the form of popups. Have you uninstalled any programs lately, edited your registry, etc.? In other words, have you done anything to your system lately besides "normal" use?

Welcome to the forums, Dodger1

Here's a page from Microsoft about repairing a damaged IE. It's worth a try:
