why not use frontpage? A lot of people with very successful websites told me they only use frontpage and just modify the code a little to make it search engine friendly. There are also add on tools you can use with frontpage in order to help out SEO wise.

Hey,

Steve, definitely try Dreamweaver. It is a great program, and for someone like me that doesn't know html I am happy knowing that the code it makes will work just fine.

All the Best,

There are some very well done authority sites in the niches I follow that were made with Front Page. They have great content, lots of links and that's all they need to rank well and bring in lots of new and repeat visitors.

Frontpage is by no means useless (even Windows has its redeeming qualities:)) but the code that's generated by it is anything but clean- which in turn *could* cause problems with users with different browsers looking at the page.

Heck, even Notepad could create web sites and "I know people who use <x> and they do fine with the serps/adsense".

I am in the same boat but I am wondering if a CMS such as Mambo or an ad serving app such as PhpAdsNew (both available through fantastico) would do the trick for serving CJ, LS, BF, Performics, and other affiliate network codes, both in text and a few banners.

will I need a custom made backend or will a CMS or Phpadsnew work?
is anyone using mambo or phpadsnew for posting affiliate codes?

thanks!

Can you still do that in AW with the new changes in effect?

YES. Started one the other day -- merchant doesn't even have a PPC campaign going.

-------

Also, You forgot Coldfusion (CFM) instead of ASP or PHP.
If you learn HTML, then picking up Coldfusion is a snap.

One of the benefits of using dynamic code is the ability to easily plug in merchant datafeeds... but this is more advanced. Really, start with HTML. Take it a step at a time. You'll get there.

I was told that DW is good compared to FP but the thing is i only have FP installed and i need to purchase another software for DW. Tried the trial version for DW and it is totally different with FP.
Advice?

Use what you have. FP will produce a website, which you can put on the web and learn with.

In time, as your skills and knowledge grow, and you hopefully make some money, you can stick with FP or buy DW.

I'm working on my 4th website. The first with hindsite was rubbish, the 2nd was better, the 3rd is reasonable and makes money. The 4th is going to be even better and make me loads of money :-)

They were all built with FP, with each site it I used it less as a WYSIWYG tool and more as an HTML editor.
