Teoma update?

Re-index lost in Google's update dust?

Anybody else noticed a slight update?
Certainly SERP for my target keywords has changed.
If so, that's a pretty quick revision - within a week of re-launch - isn't it?

There was talk at the time of the launch that the index had not been updated from the beta.

Any new sites in the DB?

Yes, I can see a couple. It is certainly a new load of SERPs with some pretty large changes.

I don't see an update, but that's just me.
When do you think they picked up the pages?

I think I posted that I could see only one minor position shuffle in 15 benchmark searches.

Today, 12 of those show slightly different results. The biggest shift being one site moving from 7th to 4th.

I haven't noticed any new sites -- but I do know some sites that went up in the last couple of weeks, and they aren't in.

They are probably just adding the paid advertisers, those get spidered and indexed on 7 day cycle.

What worried me re this re-index was that a now defunct (since Jan 2002) homepage of mine in a now non-existent domain leapt into #4 position bumping my current upgraded homepage on same subject (new domain) down from #7 to #8.
Defunct site had been highly listed in old Ask Jeeves/Direct Hit set-up some time ago but certainly wasn't sighted anywhere in high listings of new AJ/Teoma regime prior to this 6/7 April weekend.
Just wondering if old pages are being included to pad out the volume. Seems silly to me if that is so.

Not sure whether it is update or reindex, however, as long as they list pages that expired 4 and more months ago, they still have a long way to go...

had a look, i have to say that i don't think their has been a re-index from a recent crawl.

though i noticed differences in the SERPs, i spotted a listing for a page on a url, that does not exist, and hasn't for over 3 months. So i would be tempted to suggest if any maybe a indexing of an old crawl pre-teoma-relaunch.

those pages that shouldnt be there due to my robots.txt must have been last indexed months ago, pre 2002 because thats how long ive had the .txt going for

My (free) listing has dropped considerably for one of my KW. Others remain unchanged.

Neato!
Just now - or in last little while - Teoma seems to have reversed the situation I outlined above.
Dead homepage gone. Good! New homepage back to #7 from #8. :)
Way to go, Teoma!!

Hi websurprise,

If you are looking to do it for free then listings in the ODP or Yahoo should suffice, assuming that you are prepared to pay for the yahoo listing, if not the ODP should do you good, will depend on ODP and Teoma's crawling patterns as to when you will get listed.

Teoma now offers a paid inclusion program.

Site Submit program, offered by Ask [static.wc.ask.com]

for more info on this topic, i would suggest following the link, in which there has been a discussion on a somewhat similar topic.

[webmasterworld.com...]

P.S. always worth using the site search on webmasterworld, alot of information archived here.

I still haven't seen an update of our sites we added about 2 weeks ago. We got an e-mail from ineedhits.com saying they were included, but we are nowhere on teoma.

Any ideas?

They need to start recrawling Y! and DMOZ again. Six month old sites in Y! and DMOZ are without a spider visit.

hi, everybody

Today I surprised to see that my sites position get changed on my popular keyword, as it was monday morning.

Is it the tendecy of teoma to refesh their database everyday, or simply as some major modification is going on...

I would agree, they could do with picking up a one of the big directories, hey you never know, Yahoo could switch.
