Hi
I'd just like some advice on the best approach to submitting a site to Ask.co.uk & Ask.com. If anybody has any previous experience or pointers I'd be most grateful.

Thanks in advance
B

That fine thanks, but are you aware of their house style? How many suggestions should I make etc?
Thanks again

I am afraid that is all of the info I can give you as I do not have any definitive answers about your other queries.

Any new sites that I market get sent to that email address, I couldn't tell you if it is effective but we do get referrals from them, but I think that is from the other sites that they reference.

Sorry I could not have been more help, I am sure someone else out there can give you a better answer.

Cheers

If you submit to Direct hit, you get into the Ask.com db as well. As for the British version, I'm sorry, I don't know anything...perhaps another Brit, or somebody with a more international focus can be more specific.

Rusky,

Do you submit just the root domain or specific pages? I was wondering if it might be worth presenting them with tightly focussed 'answers' rather than hoping they actually explore the site...

I have only ever sent the root domain, however I do not see why you cannot send them other pages, it doesn't hurt to try :)

To be honest AskJeeves is of secondary importance to me as I mentioned above the referrals are usually from the other search engines that AskJeeves reference, Altavista etc.

I've never really paid much attention to Ask UK either, but last week they found one of my sites and have given about a dozen sections of it their own 'question' - ranked highly for my main keyword.

The traffic has been surprising - jostling with AV for fourth place in my referrals, plenty enough to get my future attention ;)

To be honest, I've no idea. The site in question has been around in one form or another for years, and has been well ranked in DH for over a year.

Why they should suddenly pick up on it now...?

Does anyone know how deep the relationship between DH and Ask is?
