Sounds like the crew in Emeryville will be going out for donuts today.

"This was a record quarter and it can be summed up by traffic growth and an increase in market share," said Skip Battle, CEO of Ask Jeeves, Inc. "Our US queries grew by 33 percent year-over-year and by 39 percent in the UK. This strong growth in traffic was primarily due to improvements in our technology and enhancements to our site experience. We scaled our search index to 1.5 billion URLs to deliver more relevant search results.

possibly - they certainly don't party like the chaps at the plex - or maybe they do - but don't advertise that they do!

I've always been a little frustrated by the lack of serious impact that AJ/Teoma are having, but the traffic and their financial situation is getting bigger, and maybe that is there tactic after all, let it grow organically, and if they continue over the next couple of years, then they will be a big time player in both search and the commercial intra-search industries.

I'm slowly becoming convinced that this is their strategy outside of all the things, that have been said in the past.
