submit page - the keyword box?

I've always wondered exactly how important that keyword field is on the directhit submit page. Any thoughts anyone?

I also fill it in, and hope it is very unimportant to rankings received on each page.

I've done some submittals with keywords, without, and with some off topic - just to see if it did anything different with the different pages.

Problem was, the spider never came round on all of them to let me know if what I did was good, bad, or ambivilent.

They don't spider very often, at least, for new stuff, and I've been watching closely on many new things for almost a year...so Direct hit if you can get in, might produce something, but as is, it's a zombie.
