Teoma - title & desc do not match meta tags

sabotage?

I've been listed in Teoma from before it became the property of Ask.com - i.e. before the PFI started.

Over the last 2 months, the title and description in the listing has changed for no apparent reason - this does not appear to have happened with any other site I can see listed.

With ALL the other sites listed, the title and description that shows in the SERPS match what each website uses in the title and description meta-tags. Yet for my site, this has changed to a different title (just 2 words) and my description has changed (just 4 words) - none of which I have ever chosen or used.

Can't believe this... before this happened I was being listed as #1 or #2 for my chosen keyphrase.

Can anybody shed some light on what might have happened.

Is it possible that someone has used the PFI system to sabotage my website's listing - i.e. by posing as the owner?

thanks for any advice.

stavs,

I've also been in Teoma for a long time, previous to the AJ deal.

In Teoma, my title and description appear to be taken from the ODP.

Do you have an ODP listing, and if so, how does it compare?

Have you tried a search on your "new" description to see where else it might be coming from?

absolutely right JD! thanks, thats cleared that up.

now I've got to change that ridiculous title and desc at ODP - they really messed it up for me.

thanks again.

having said that - it won't be easy to get odp to update. Maybe it would be easier to pay for inclusion into teoma. That raises 2 questions in my mind;

1. given that I am already in the listing (free), will they have a problem accepting my PFI application?

2. will teoma update my title and description using my meta-tags as they appear to do with most sites?

any thoughts?

I do not have the answers to your questions but want to suggest you ask them straigt, that should give you the best answer. :)
