Relationship between teoma and AskJeeves

I know ask jeeves owns teoma... did askjeeves buy them, did askjeeves create them, does askjeeves use the teoma database for itself, or the opposite?

First, welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Teoma was a university project at rutgers university - askjeeves bought them last year, after they became a commercial project backed with some venture funding.

It is a 'theme based search engine' for what it's worth, and the guy who created this site, Brett Tabke, did quite an interview with the founder of the technology behind Teoma.

I would recommend duing a site search [searchengineworld.com] for more information, or digging into the form I mentioned above - where I will have moved it. :)
