In this context, ya pretty much near the top.
http*//hotbot.lycos.com, gets its results from Overture, if they are bidded for terms, first. Then a link to the Most popular sites, measured by the Direct Hit popularity heuristic, this is not teoma. And then lastly filled in by Inktomi.
However.
hotbot.co.uk, deemed as a purer ink list, is only ink, with no overture or pop sites, from DH.
Hotbot, never really made it to the big time, however its partner LYCOS, is still sniffing around, and in Europe some consider to be the biggest, though different sources say different things.
Certainly in the states the most used web entity is AOL, and its network assets, at the last figures i looked from Neilson's net ratings.
If you set to the default 10 pages, the first page consists of "Direct Hit" results: please note that that first 10 results, replace the first 10 Inktomi results: it means that if you score in the first top 10 Inktomi results, you do not show in that ten first HotBot results!
If you set to 25, 50 or more results per page, you get pure Inktomi results: in this case you can also see the:
Get the Top 10 websites for... that represents the "Direct Hit" results (the same 10 resulkts when you set to the default 10 pages)
