Many people on this forum seem to think that the Teoma/AskJeeves algorithm is pretty good. If this true then Teoma will probably be able win over searchers by giving relevant results. However, I agree with others that the PFI model and the correspondingly small number of pages indexed is working against Teoma in their the quest for the most relevant results. The PFI model seems to be self defeating because if few are searching a database then why would anybody pay to include their site, and if only a fraction of all Web pages are indexed in a database then who would want to search the database, etc.
Basically, I don't plan on giving Teoma money. However, if they want to use my content to increase the relevancy of their results then I will gladly feed it to them.
Their are many reasons to gor for it or not to, the main reason has got to be ROI, compared to all other options and your budget restrictions.
This is the Teoma Forum [webmasterworld.com], which i was hunting through for you'se chaps for relevant threads, but realised that their was actually quite alot of stuff, hence read what you think is prevelant to the issue.
Personally, Teoma is an up and coming engine, and its definetly worth while at least getting in to Teoma, becuase of its exposure via the AJ network, whether you wish to PFI or go for free inclusion is your call, though one thing that seems to be true is the PFI / Free inclusions does not affect your ranking, it is the site itself, which is fair, and to be honest with you a well learned lesson, from other SE's giving PFI included site's rank boost.
Its all about relevance!
