Although Direct Hit continues to stay in place for MSN (and some others) Ask.com (owner) has announced that the database will no longer play an active role, opting for their recently aquired Teoma instead; doubtful it is being updated.

I just got a rather deep spidering from Direct Hit. Strange, huh?

Amazingly, it has been. I've just appeared (this week) in the top 3 with a little man beside my site listing. It has only taken me 4 years to get there and they are going to drop it any week now!

>deep spidering from Direct Hit..

Teoma is using the Direct Hit spider user agent.

That's great.

My site's DH ranking however has not changed. I have held the #1 spot (5 little men) for my main 3 KW for about a year; regardless, I receive few hits compared to other engines/directories with less ranking.

MSN who no doubt has the largest tap on DH referrals is my #4 referrer, but still is less than 300 a day. No way to tell if those hits are coming from LS, Ink or DH.
