Found it through a link on a website. You sign up for the service by giving some pretty complete information, and they guide you through a "tour" of the best sites in your chosen category when you're searching.

From Jeeves Tours [etour.com]:

Don't know where to begin? Let Jeeves guide you through the best sites on the Web one click at a time.

From the bit I read, it sounds like advertisers pay to be included which is good to know.

Sounds like a slick way, to me, for a search engine to target the content to users, and generate revenue from it.

I found a log file in a competitive keyword set recently, and that's how I found out about it. It looked to be a high volume deal, with comparison to their search results, etc. And they were ranked well on google for a choice keyword in their niche.

However, given that I can't phone them and ask for conversion data, I'm not convinced it's something I'd shell out for on a CPM or CPC basis.

Anybody else have any experience (or know somebody with) this one? I'm very curious, myself....seems like it could be something to watch as a new style marketing vehicle.

From Their site:

[etour.com...]

How does Ask Jeeves choose the sites that get sent to members?

We have a dedicated team of editors who surf the Web daily to find great sites for our members. New sites are added every day so no two Jeeves’ Tours are ever the same.

In case anyone cares, I just got an e-mail from AJ saying that Jeeves Tours is shutting down tomorrow.

That is all.
