Coffe mug (or tea cup)

I'll start you off with mine.

"Guns don't kill people I kill people"

This was gven to me by my boss when the cleaner (I suspect) broke my Everton mug from the FA cup final 1984.

BTW I am not a homicidal maniac, quite the opposite, in fact you could say I am pathological pacifist. my bosses attempt at Irony - I don't mind though Happy Gilmore was hilarious ;)

I coach soccer and a couple of years ago the team manager had the girls team picture put onto a mug. Very special even five or six years later. Sniff sniff.

I have a poker face on my mug and nobody laughs; if they know what's good for them.

Oh dear I think I need to have a tidy up.

“world’s greatest dad”
“super mum”
“Harry Potter”
“get off”
flowery type of design

moves to next desk

I can’t read the last one but to describe it, it’s green, kinda furry, seems to quiver a bit. I haven’t seen the cat for a few days perhaps it’s the cat, don’t remember it being green though!

My favorite: "No More Mr. Nice Guy", with a grumpy, troll-like cartoon person.

Next: You Brits might like my Spode tea cup with a sailing ship on it... I don't use it, though, as its small capacity would require too many trips to the coffee pot. :)

The rest seem to be a motley assortment of freebies.

Limbo - good crumpets are hard to find in the colonies, that's why I retired the cup...

JonKing - I bet you have a "Dewey Wins Presidency" newspaper, too... ;)

Actually I have a tea cup with "Fry's Hot Chocolate" printed on it.
And a coffee mug with "Ovaltine" printed on it.

Never understood why.

Big mug with pictuers of Mickey Mouse all round.

It was a freebie from Disneyland, from about ten years ago.

Still my favorite :)

I'm not old enough to drink coffee. I pour my tea in a glass over ice. I drink beer out of whatever's handy (drinking out of a bottle is uncouth :)).

Loved the picture Macguru.

My cup USED to say "Geek Girl!" in black lettering... until I lost it at a restaurant in Boston. *snif*

But a new one is in the mail, so I'll have a chance to customize it all over again. :)

Mine is one of the huge ones from starbucks. Guess where I bought that..!

I have the same one. In red.

But I have been eyeing up the "make it a double latte mug" in the Google Store for quite some time.

a Garry Larson cartoon....

Kid on front steps of building with books under one arm, pushing with other arm against a door marked "pull"... from the angle he's leaning at he's working hard and he's been trying a while.

Sign over door reads "School for the Gifted"

'twas a gift from my brother who is dyslexic to me who is gifted. He still thinks it's the best thing he ever bought me. I kinda agree :)

Mine says Made in the U.S.A. ;)

P.S. It's on the bottom in small print raised in the ceramic.

Tea and coffee
not for me.
Don't care for brew
and that's true.
Give me the wine
from the proven vine.
And I'll sip some all day.
Don't have a cup
I drink from the bottle
uncouth as it may be.

Is the cup like a security blanket of sort?
jaybee
[edit: 5/2/2003]
I grab big cup from micky D to drink ice water all day.
Now you know.

"I must hurry and catch up with the others, for I am their leader."

Also, an NPR Morning Edition mug signed by Bob Edwards with the note "Wishing you no bad hops" (no, not beer related--he found out I played shortstop on a coed softball team).

is it custom in USA or britain to have your "special
coffe/tea" mug?

Nobody but nobody had better touch my coffee mug. They may find out my pacifism can only be pushed so far!

My beloved mug is close to my age ... so its OLD. It bears a hand painted image of the original Blue Nose leaving Lunenburg, Nova Scotia under full sail on the day of her launching - March 26, 1921.

My mug sits on my desk about 6 inches away from my computer all day and is retired to its place of honour in the kitchen atop a small, hand carved, wooden display pedestal in the evening. The pedestal is carved in the shape of Bluenose' hull. Nobody washes the mug but me. Nobody touches the mug but me. Got it! :)

My current coffee mug is solid black, with RTFM in white letters. Got it from ThinkGeek.

My Google mug is on the desk dutifully holding the increasing number of pens I receive in the mail.

Want a lot of free pens and junk mail? Create an LLC. ;)
