Am i right in thinking that customers will not have to go through the card verification checks if they chose the pay with credit card option insead of setting up a full account?

With the old PP accounts some of my customers were asked to fax off various documents before they could have a PP account and buy my products, others were not.
Does it depend what county they are in?

I believe they are now doing a more standard style of AVS to check city state zip combinations, and of course the the CC number format / exeration date check. It seems to be set up so that you can use them as a credit card processor.

The same credit confirmation procedures still apply. The vast majority of shoppers, both US and non-US will be able to pay immediately. A small percentage of ostly non-US users will need to go through a credit confirmation process which involves locating a 4 digit code on a credit card statement (online or mail) and reporting it back to PayPal.

I'm not aware of any situations where new user need to fax in documents in order to pay. Document faxing is normally only used when we suspect fraudulent account access.

Even though this feature is fundamental shift in how buyers can pay sellers online, there needs to be a massive education campaign to let buyers know this exists. I just received a call this morning from a customer who I suggested pay by Paypal. He said he did not have an account. I had to walk him through the process. Paypal, if you can provide a walk-through with screenshots on your web site, this will help everyone.

Could paypal, please send a notice to Canadian users when we are able to accept payments without having our clients/customers having to create accounts.

That would be fantastic, great even.
