Hi,

I have links to certain pages (privacy, T&Cs etc) from the main menu.

I do not want to waste my pages "link juice" and would like to add a "no-follow" attribute to these links.

How can it be done?

Thanks.

Did you catch the "big news" a while back where Matt Cutts said that the PR each link passes is basically the total PR the page has to pass divided by the number of links on the page, with there being no difference between follow and nofollow links?

In other words, if you nofollow, it makes a difference for the destination page, which gets no PR passed, but it makes no difference for the source page and that PR exxentially evaporates.

Thanks Ergophobe, yes I had gone through the "page rank" depreciation article by Matt Cutts. For this, I had thought of having more internal links on the home page so that even if you have 1 or 2 "no-follow" links, it subsides the PR evaporation. Example: The PR would evaporate more if I have only 10 links on the home page in comparison to 100 links :)

But, would still like to "no-follow" certain links on my main menu. What would you suggest as a solution?

Understood but sorry Kinley, I don't actually use Joomla, so I can't help with the implementation. I just wanted to throw that out there in case you hadn't heard.

I do see some promising stuff when I search Google on "joomla nofollow main menu" though, as I say, not a Joomla user, so not so good at evaluating it.
