Same content, different format...

Would this be considered cloaking?

Let's say I have a forum that uses CSS for formatting and tables for layout.

As a result the pages are not SE-friendly.

Would I be asking for trouble if I delivered the same content to SEs but formatted it so it's easier for the bot to understand?

That's sort of what I thought. Thank you for confirming it for me. :)

In a sense I guess it's no different than the way I format the website when I detect a text-only browser. So my reasoning, if questioned by a SE, would be that I'm serving them the same layout/formatting that a text-only browser would get and there's nothing wrong with that, right?
